Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is a combination of football scholarship, family work as well as community involvement. He is the youngest child from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Semon. They had him raised on the farm they owned in Eufala. Second football he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was a starter for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. The team also took home the national title twice. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975. He was also selected as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned a diploma from the University of California, Berkeley. Lee Roy's fourth service included ten hours per week of volunteer time in college. He moved to Tampa after college, was a member of the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. His business career began. His first job was as an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the top 10 young men across the nation. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch higher and weighing in at more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as an athlete, was captain of his team throughout 1975. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as the assistant director of sports. He has been inducted in the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. His parents, Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. have been awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
